Passports and Pacifiers is a place all about being a mom, travel, and traveling with little ones.
Before I had kids, I was told I traveled too much. When I had my first baby, I was then told…”Good thing you traveled so much because its going to be awhile before you pack that suitcase again.” Obviously your lifestyle changes when you have a baby, but I wanted to do my best to keep my passion for travel alive while raising a family. My first baby got on a plane at 2 1/2 months and is currently an amazing little three year old to fly with (She likes to be the last off the plane so she can take a selfie with the pilots.). I just had a second little traveler, and she got on her first airplane at two weeks old!! (Not exactly by choice, but when your brother gets married across the country, you’ve got to make it happen!).
This site is also a place for me to try and squeeze in my other passion – writing. As a working mom, who enjoys somewhat of a full night’s sleep (Isn’t currently happening, but I can still dream), it is hard to balance life, sanity, and showers. Writing with an infant in your lap or getting started on a story idea right when your toddler screams for you to come read her just one more Princess Sofia book or then falling asleep after typing only two sentences doesn’t promote much productivity. But it does feel so good to finish just one piece of writing, almost as good as sneaking in an extra five minutes in the shower…alone.
For most of my adult life, I lived in Los Angeles, but recently relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area. Aside from the ridiculous home prices, I am having a blast raising a family here. I know there isn’t enough time in the day to balance babies, work, travel, and writing, but I’m going to try anyway!
